This week: 33th edition of the Easter Tournement Gent

On 30-31 March 2013 the Easter Tournement Short Track is held in Gent-Belgium. This competition organised by Skating Club Kristallijn Gent belongs with its 33rd edition to the traditionals under the international shorttrack competitions of West Europe. For this years event more then 145 skaters from 27 clubs out of 8 countries came to Belgium. All results can be seen live on this website.
The Golden Sun Award is a special overall award for the best Juniors and Seniors over a serie of competitions. The classification is made up out of the 3 best results out of 4 competitions. These competitions are: the Speculaas Cup held in Hasselt in februari, the Easter Tournement held on the 30-31 March 2013 in Gent, the Open Dutch held on 6-7 April 2013 in Turnhout and the Closing Games held on 13 April in Turnhout.
Besides the Golden Sun Award also the Silver "M" will be handed out to the best Masters of this season over a serie of 3 competitions. These competitions are the Easter Tournement in Gent, the Open Dutch in Turnhout and the Closing Games in Turnhout.

This week: Oberstdorf Shorttrack Trophy Summercamp

This summer the traditional shorttrack summercamp, which was held for 30 years in Chamonix, will be held for the second time in Oberstdorf-Germany. The Oberstdorf Shorttrack Trophy Summercamp will take place from 3 August untill 10 August 2013. The summercamp will be organized and supported by the Sportscouncil of Oberstdorf, the Ice Club Oberstdorf and the volunteers of shorttrackonline.info.
The camp will start on Saturday 3 August 2013 with the traditional welcome reception and will continue untill the closing dinner on Saturday 10 August 2013.
The announcement with all information is published on the entry page of this website. Entry can only be done by clubs or associations using the entry system of shorttrackonline.info.
During the summercamp there will be ice available for on-ice-training every day. The last two days a short track competition will be held. Besides this there will be training sessions for inline skating on the exellent Inline track of Oberstdorf. Highpoint in the program will be a Biathlon competition with Inline skating and shooting.
Oberstdorf is a small city in the south of Germany and is situated close to the foot of the Alps. It has many hotels, pensions, a Youth Hostel and a very good camping. Special in Oberstdorf are the "ferienwohnungen". These apartments can be rented for several days or weeks for very reasonable prices. Thanks to the support of the Sportcouncil of Oberstdorf the number of training sessions on ice has been doubled this year which means that many more skaters than last year can attend this summercamp. PB-Event: for Sport and Events
PB-Event is a Dutch company that is specialized in Sound, Telecommunication and Timing equipment. They are also Producers for big and small sport events. Moreover, they have worked for many years in Short Track Speed Skating.
PB-Event is doing jobs all over the world. They have worked for the Grand Prix Track & Field in Mexico, the Grand Prix Thales FBK Games in the Netherlands and for the Grand Prix Track & Field of Shanghai as well. In the Netherlands they supply the technical equipment for many (sport) events. Contracted by the Rabobank cycling team, they have gone for a many years to the Tour de France. Their Telecommunication equipment has been used at the Olympic Games of Salt Lake City and also at the Olympic Games of Torino.
