- It was a party for Latvia. Haralds Silovs (LAT) made a perfect performance on the 1500 meter, first by qualifying for the final and then by controling and winning this final. The 2nd place was for Vyacheslav Kurginyan (RUS) and the 3rd place for Ruslan Zakharov (RUS).
