William L. Markland

10 January 2007   -   The ISU has announced that William ("Bill") L. Markland (USA) has passed away at the age of 67 in his home town Champaign, Illinois, USA on January 4th, 2007. Bill Markland was a speed skater and thereafter a Coach. He later served as an ISU Referee in Short Track Speed Skating. He highly contributed to the development of Short Track Speed Skating at national and international level, and he was the organizer of the first international World Short Track Competition staged at Champaign in 1976 (with 7 countries).
