Universiade Lake Placid

21 January 2023   -   With over 2500 athletes and coaches, from 600 universities across 50 countries the 2023 University Games are held January 12-22 in Lake Placid (NY). It is the largest multi-sport winter event in the world, after the Winter Olympics. University students age 17-25 are competing here. Shorttrack is held in the Lake Placid Olympic Skating Oval Ice rink.
   
    Both the women 1500m. and the 500m. was won by Minjeong Choi (KOR). The Men’s 1500m. was for Taesung Kim (KOR) and the 500m. was won by Shogo Miyata (JPN). The Mixed Gender Relay had a rare final result: France was the winner and the teams of Korea, USA and China all got a penalty.
   
    The 3th and last day of the competition is underway with the 1000m. and the Relay final women 3000m. and Men final 5000m.
