Calendar meeting Shorttrack in Bergamo

2 June 2025   -   On 10 and 11 of May the European Calendar meeting for Shorttrack was held in Bergamo-Italy. Host and organiser was the shorttrack club Sport Evolution Skating Bergamo which is well known from organising several times a StarClass competition in the past years. In the meeting, with 22 representatives of European countries, the past competition season was evaluated and the sett-up for the next seasons competition calendar was made. In the meeting all the countries worked together to try forecome conflicting situations in the competition calendar, worked on streamlining the procedures around entry, competition-programs etc. Important discussion was that skaters must get "value for money" what is translated in the fact that everybody agrees that skaters in international competitions should have a minimum average of racing 3 times a day (more is better). Also everybody wants to have a real European Final of the Danubia and StarClass series. A special task-group is working on trying to get this Euro Final back on the calendar.
